How to Use Track Changes and Comments in Excel (Khmer)

Hello everyone! Today I show you how to use Track Changes and Comments in Excel step by step with simple explanations and video guide in Khmer language.
When multiple people work on same Excel file, Track Changes and Comments help you see who changed data, what value was edited, and leave feedback easily!
Method 1: Insert Comments vs Notes in Excel
In modern Excel, there are two types of annotations:
1. Threaded Comment (For Team Discussion)
Use Comment when you want to chat or discuss with team members directly inside cell.
- Shortcut:
Ctrl+Alt+M(or Right-click cell ➔ select New Comment). - You can
@mentionperson name and team member can reply to your comment! - Cell will show purple marker in top-right corner.
2. Classic Note (For Simple Reminder)
Use Note when you just want to put small reminder text for yourself.
- Shortcut:
Shift+F2(or Right-click cell ➔ select New Note). - Cell will show small red triangle in top-right corner.
Method 2: Enable Track Changes in Excel
Track Changes records every edit made to cells (shows author name, date, time, old value, and new value).
Step by Step:
- Go to Review tab on ribbon menu.
- Click Track Changes ➔ select Highlight Changes....
- Check box Track changes while editing. This also shares your workbook.
- Check When: All and Who: Everyone.
- Make sure Highlight changes on screen is checked.
- Click OK.
Now when anyone changes cell data, Excel draws small blue border around cell and shows exact edit history when you hover mouse over it!
Method 3: How to Accept or Reject Changes
After team finish editing file, manager can review and accept or reject each change:
- Go to Review tab ➔ click Track Changes ➔ select Accept/Reject Changes.
- Click OK on popup message box.
- Excel will jump cell by cell showing change history:
- Click Accept to keep new value.
- Click Reject to revert back to original old value.
- Click Accept All or Reject All to apply for whole workbook.
